Drawings from my sketchbooks and flat file. Odd ideas, whimsies, and preliminaries. The best teacher I ever had prescribed doing at least three drawings a day. I sketch a lot more than I ever end up painting, so here is some of my range.

closeup of two peacocks whose tails become butterfly wings extreme closeup of a very sketchy sketch of a baby chick crowing like a rooster, standing on a glowing egg which is held in two darkly shadowed hands page of detailed sketches of odd garments (and one Asian woman's face in side view)
neoclassical architecture of a monumental size a shaded horse's head with glimpses of line drawings of armor a wet head with long silky hair facing away and two great dripping tentacles rise out of the water
a llama-like humanoid with large, hairy ears, tilted black eyes, and an extended face, in a Tudor headdress and squared neckline a woman's torso seen from behind with a very detailed woven ribbon dress, backless, the ribbons of the skirt catching the wind in baroque swirls, a misty and sofly focused landscape far beyond her, as if she were flying a female figure looking straight at us with long black hair swinging to one side as she gestures, her garments layered and authoritative, a small gorgon's face like a brassard on her chest
